One cottage, one bay, and the sound of halyards on the water
The Sea Shanty is a water-access-only fisherman's cottage on a small island community in Pittwater. There's a swimming beach at the bottom of the garden, a deepwater jetty for the ferry to drop you at, and very little else to do but read, paint, swim and watch the light change over the water.
Inside
Oars on the wall, bottles on the sill
Everything in the shanty has been beachcombed, inherited or found: a pair of vintage oars mounted above the daybed, binoculars for watching the yachts round the point, a straw hat by the door and little green and amber glass bottles catching the afternoon sun.
It sleeps up to six — a queen bedroom nook, a lounge that folds down to a double, and a daybed that becomes two singles.
